    Ok … I removed from cpanel and went into ftp to remove.  Still getting 404 code.   any help?  hostgator is server, single site, nothing fancy.  can’t login into wordpress, I’m bummed.

    Delete the .htaccess file in your website root folder and the .htaccess file in your wp-admin folder.  You should be able to log into your site now.

    Probably done something stupid. I had this problem before installing BPS Pro after uploading my site – .htaccess was missing so I upload that and got access.  Installed and activated BPS Pro, now can’t get in.  Tried deleting .htaccess as above but the files keep getting replaced so I cannot log into my website to gain access to anything or deactivate any plugins.

    I am new to WP so suspect there might be something I am overlooking… 🙁

    Outdated info removed – New Method info added;

    BPS Pro Xternal Tools (XTF) are intended to be used when you are unable to login to your website to fix an issue/problem.  You can turn Off BPS Pro features using the XTF Form options without having to be logged into your website.

    Thanks for that.  I did read through it but there was so much to take in I missed that bit.  As it happens, it came right by itself – go figure!
