First, I love BPS! Have used it for years without issue. Today, however, I’ve experienced a problem.

My host has just set our PHP version to 8.2.31 from 7.4. I had a BPS dialog at the top of the dashboard suggesting I needed to run the Setup Wizard to clear things up. Alas, after that, clicking on anything in the dashboard or on the site opens a Download window.

I disabled ALL plugins and deleted the htaccess files using the host file manager. This allowed me to get back into WP. I reactivated the plugins and all was well, until I ran the BPS Setup Wizard again. The same thing happened again.

What do I need to do to get BPS back up and running on our site without breaking it?

    Thank you so much!

Use FTP or your web host File Manager tool.
Delete the BPS root htaccess file – it’s in the same folder where the wp-config.php file is.
    Login to your website.
Go to BPS Root Custom Code.
Delete the old 7.4 php/php.ini handler htaccess code in Custom Code text box #1
    Save your changes.
    Activate Root Folder BulletProof mode.

    That did it!

    You’re the best!

I’ve purchased Pro. You deserve it for all of your hard work.
