BPS Pro would not affect your Alexa ranking in any way. We have noticed that our Alexa ranking has been dropping drastically since September – October due to a change that Alexa announced and has made in their ranking algorithm. What is interesting is some websites traffic is spiking drastically upward while other websites traffic is declining drastically downward. Our actual visitor traffic in Google Analytics has been pretty much the same since April 2014 (peaks and valleys, but averages out to the same website visitor traffic average range monthly), but our Alexa ranking shows that our website traffic has been decreasing since April (see screenshots below). 😉 Google Analytics is an accurate measure of your actual website visitor traffic, while Alexa is estimated website visitor traffic.
Being a coder I assume that 1 of 2 things is true: 1. Either there is a coding mistake in the Alexa Algorithm or 2. A ranking correction is being made of some kind. ie some sites are now getting a drastic ranking reduction while other sites are getting a drastic ranking increase to do some sort of ranking correction thing, although that is not logical. Logic would dictate that ALL website’s rankings would change identically since all website’s are ranked on the same scale of comparison. Guessing here. 😉
