Can't download BPS Free Plugin – Update Failed: Download failed. Not Found

Hi,

I’m trying to download and install BPS free for a client, and it seems that it doesn’t work. I get the following error from the WordPress.org page (https://wordpress.org/plugins/bulletproof-security/)

This site can’t be reached

The webpage at https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/bulletproof-security.0.54.5.zip might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
ERR_INVALID_RESPONSE

Is there any other way I can get a BPS Free zip? Thanks!

UPDATE: This issue/problem is now resolved as of 4-4-2017 – 5pm PST

This issue is now fixed. The problem was caused by the old BPS plugin version numbering convention – .x.x. The new WP Plugin Directory Nginx server did not like the BPS plugin .x.x numbering convention. 😉 The new BPS plugin version numbering convention is using a standard numbering convention – 1.0, 2.0, etc.

Yep, we have notified the WP Dev’s about this issue and they are working on a solution.  The issue has something to do with the new WP Plugin site that was rolled out a few days ago.

You can download the newest version here > BPS .54.6: [link removed – problem is resolved]

Note:  If you see an SSL/HTTPS warning when clicking the link above instead of the zip file downloading successfully. Go ahead and click “proceed” or “go” or “advanced” or whatever your particular Browser uses to allow you to continue to the “non-secure” URL.

To install the bulletproof-security.zip file use the WordPress Plugin upload zip installer or manually upload the new BPS plugin folder using FTP.

Installation/upgrade steps using the WordPress Plugin upload zip installer
1. Use FTP or your web host control panel file manager and delete the /bulletproof-security/ plugin folder.
2. Go to the WordPress > Plugins menu > Add New menu > click the Upload Plugin button > click the Choose File button > navigate to where you downloaded the bulletproof-security.zip file on your computer and select the bulletproof-security.zip file > click the Install Now button.

Installation/upgrade steps using FTP to manually upload the new BPS plugin folder
1. Unzip the bulletproof-security.zip file that you downloaded to your computer.
2. Use FTP and delete the current /bulletproof-security/ plugin folder under the WordPress /plugins/ folder on your website.
3. Upload the entire /bulletproof-security/ plugin folder that you unzipped on your computer to the WordPress /plugins/ folder.

Hi,

I’m trying to update BPS free, and it seems that it doesn’t work. I get the following error:

Is there any other way I can  update a BPS Free zip? Thanks!

Cant seem to update BPS within the dash board keeps giving me error. Any solution would be helpful. Thank you in advance.
