    Hai,

We are installing BPS Security pro, the pre installation wizard was completed without any errors. But after we clicked the setup wizard button our website immediately went “There has been a critical error on this website.”.

We noticed that BPS Security Pro modified the root .htaccess and we thought it might be the source of this issue. Here we attached our existing root .htaccess file

    # redirect to https no www
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off [OR]
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\. [NC]
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^(?:www\.)?(.+)$ [NC]
    RewriteRule ^ https://%1%{REQUEST_URI} [L,NE,R=301]

    # BEGIN WPSuperCache
    # The directives (lines) between "BEGIN WPSuperCache" and "END WPSuperCache" are
    # dynamically generated, and should only be modified via WordPress filters.
    # Any changes to the directives between these markers will be overwritten.
    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
#If you serve pages from behind a proxy you may want to change 'RewriteCond %{HTTPS} on' to something more sensible
    AddDefaultCharset UTF-8
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_METHOD} !POST
    RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} ^$
    RewriteCond %{HTTP:Cookie} !^.*(comment_author_|wordpress_logged_in|cookie_notice_accepted|wp-postpass_).*$
    RewriteCond %{HTTP:X-Wap-Profile} !^[a-z0-9\"]+ [NC]

    RewriteBase /
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule . /index.php [L]

    # END WordPress

Can someone help us add BPS .htaccess to our existing one? Thanks

Yes, you are correct that some invalid htaccess code saved in 1 of the BPS Root Custom Code text boxes caused this problem.  Go to BPS Root Custom Code and copy all htaccess code saved in all of the Root Custom Code text boxes and save that htaccess code to a plain text file on your computer (just in case you want to reuse any of the custom htaccess code).  Next click the Delete button under the Import/Export form tool to delete all custom htaccess code saved in the Root Custom Code text boxes.  Then copy your WP Super Cache htaccess code from your original root htaccess file into this Custom Code text box:  1. CUSTOM CODE TOP PHP/PHP.INI HANDLER/CACHE CODE, click the Save Root Custom Code button.  Then run the Pre-Installation Wizard and Setup Wizard.
