deleting quarantine files

Hi, if a website is functioning well with files in quarantine (in other words, they do not appear to be necessary for the normal useage of the website) can I just delete them without checking each one? I am wondering because “delete option” says it also deletes database entry and I do not want to cause disruption in the database.

Yes, you can safely delete the files.  The database entries are just the information that you see on the Quarantine page > filename and path to the file.
