I assume you have WP_DEBUG turned On in your wp-config.php file?  When you have WP_DEBUG turned On it writes log entries to the debug.log file.  Probably the best way to handle this issue is to turn AutoRestore Off while you are using WP_DEBUG and then after you are done debugging either click the AutoRestore wp-content File Backup button or run the Setup Wizard again.

Thanks for the reply. My mailbox is being inundated with eternal alerts concerning the debug.log My quick and dirty solution has been to S-Monitor> Options> ARQ: When A File Has Been AutoRestored|Quarantined > DO NOT SEND EMAIL ALERTS

Not sure where to find the wp-config.php file to turn off WP_DEBUG

Your wp-config.php file is in the same folder as your WordPress installation.  It does not sound like you did anything with WP_DEBUG in your wp-config.php file since you did not know what that the file is.  Just try turning ARQ Off and run the Setup Wizards.  You probably do not want to turn Off AutoRestore|Quarantine email alerts.

Tried with ARQ off and ran the setup wizards. Then updated BPS to the latest version. Was notified that any conflicts with themes or plugins would be automatically white listed. Turned back on email alerts. Unfortunately the never ending debug.log keeps bugging me.

Ok all fixed.  The WPSSO plugin was writing php errors to the WordPress debug.log file.  I checked the WPSSO plugin settings and there is not any option setting to change the setting for where php errors are being written to.  Php errors should be written to a php error log and not the WordPress debug.log file, but I am guessing the plugin author did that so he would not have to figure out how to find the php error log for every/all websites.  Contact the WPSSO plugin author and ask for this feature request:  An option setting to control and change where php errors are written to.  The default setting would be the WordPress debug.log file with the ability to change the php error log path in that new option setting.  Ie you would then be able to change debug.log to your BPS php error log path/file.  For now I created an AutoRestore single file exclude rule for the WP debug.log file > http://forum.ait-pro.com/forums/topic/autorestore-quarantine-guide-read-me-first/#autorestore-exclude-rules  This is fine to keep the exclude rule permanently.  The WordPress debug.log file cannot be exploited so there is really no reason for ARQ to check that file/file type.

I also saw that a default server php error log file was being quarantined frequently:  /xxxxx/xxxxx/public_html/wp-content/error_log.  So I created an AutoRestore single file exclude rule for this file as well.
