bpuser101Participant
I’ve run through troubleshooting with no luck.
Wordpress version: 3.9
BulletProof Security WordPress Plugin: Version .50.5There is no data being collected in login security and monitoring. I have it set to log all account logins. Under login status it reads ‘No Logins/Locked’
I’m using a theme from appthemes called classipress who also built the jobroller theme (known issues). Could this be the problem?
AITpro AdminKeymasterMost likely the ClassiPress Theme is also designed like the JobRoller Theme where I think the intention is to handle everything within the Theme instead of allowing other plugins to be installed to handle things that the theme is already doing. Check with the AppThemes folks to see if other Login Security plugins can be used with ClassiPress or if the theme design is supposed to take over/handle this functionality.
bpuser101ParticipantThanks. I remember WangGuard having similar compatibility issues so I imagine it is down to the theme.
Can you verify please that setting Logging Options: to ‘Log all account logins’ mean that everytime any user logs in it will be recorded?
AITpro AdminKeymasterYes, the option to Log all account logins normally logs every single login to a website. What I assume is happening is this: ClassiPress is using one or more of the WordPress Login page Hooks, which are Actions and Filters that hook into WordPress Login page processing. BPS also hooks into these Login page hooks. ClassiPress is most likely calling the hooks before BPS hooks so ClassiPress will override the BPS call to these same Login page hooks.
Does ClassiPress have any sort of Login page options where you can control what happens on your Login page? Something like a turn on or off option/button? Or is this hard coded into the ClassiPress theme without giving you any control or options?
bpuser101ParticipantIt offers three options for login page that I could find.
It offers in settings ‘User Set Password’ option, a “Enable reCaptcha” option, ‘Disable WordPress Login Page’ (wp-login.php),
WangGuard has been made compatible with the theme, and collects sign up IP address’ in the current configuration which suggests to me this should be possible with BPS.AITpro AdminKeymasterI have no idea what Wangguard does or how it works so a comparison cannot really be made between Wangguard and BPS. What would need to be looked at is how ClassiPress does what it does on the Login page – WordPress Hooks – Actions and Filters and compare that to BPS. The general rule always applies in cases where 2 plugins or plugin features are doing the same thing or a very similar thing – they will compete – that is completely normal/natural and typically you turn off the competing feature in the plugin or theme that you do not want to use so that you can use that feature in the other plugin or theme. Basically you cannot have 2 plugins or features doing the same thing. There is only 1 steering wheel on a car for a reason. 😉
If you want us to test the ClassiPress theme then send the zip file to info [at] ait-pro [dot] com. If the theme requires activation then provide us with that activation key. Upon completion of testing we delete premium plugins or themes and anything else that is private/personal/license oriented.
Alex LaxtonParticipantI have used this theme and it’s very classy and cool, but every theme has its security if it doesn’t work then it will not be helpful for me and for other users because that theme can’t be liable so we can’t believe in that. Make theme security more powerful.
