I can’t get rid of the M Mode on the wp-admin login page, or the warning that I’m in MMode once I’m logged in. I have no trouble logging in – just can’t get rid of the messages.

To get out of Maintenance Mode activate Root Folder BulletProof Mode.

I should have said that I’ve tried that many times. Never works.

FTP to your website and delete the .htaccess file in your website root folder.

I did that, and now I get 2 messages – No .htaccess found in root folder, and Warning: the site is in maintenance mode.

Thanks for your help. I deactivated the plugin and deleted it according to the instructions, and the Main. Mode messages are still there.

Very strange because in order for your site to be in Maintenance Mode an .htaccess file MUST exist in your root folder.  Try deleting and reinstalling BPS.

I just checked your website and it is not in Maintenance Mode.  Maybe your Browser cache is corrupt. Clear your Browser cache.  Or maybe you need to clear plugin cache for whatever caching plugin you are using.
