    Email Question:

Hello, you recently set up BPS Pro on my [website name removed for privacy] website. I want to a mod_deflate code to the htaccess file. Could you please advise on how to do this safely.

This link shows very good examples of mod_deflate .htaccess code.

mod_deflate .htaccess code is not order specific and can be added as stand alone .htaccess code anywhere in your Root .htaccess file.

You can add your mod_deflate .htaccess code to either the   text box or the  text box for your Root .htaccess file.  Personally I recommend that you use the Custom Code Bottom text box.  After adding your mod_deflate .htaccess code to Custom Code, click the Save Root Custom Code button, go to the BPS Security Modes page and click the Root Folder BulletProof Mode Activate button.
