Need to Re-Install BPS

I have BPS installed and it was running fine on my site. I was performing maintenance and saw that BPS didn’t show up as a plugin, this was weird. Because it didn’t show up in the dashboard as an installed plugin (or at all) I tried to install it, got a message “destination folder already exists.” Next, I checked the server, and yes, in my plugins folder, “bulletproof-security” is there.
NEED TO KNOW: can I simply rename or remove the plugins/bulletproof-security folder and then install BPS again?

Yes, delete the /bulletproof-security/ plugin folder and reinstall BPS.
