    Hello,

We have a site that we’re developing that we recently temporarily changed the domain name of. Today, we installed an SSL certificate for the site which then caused us to need a new BPS Pro Activation Key. However, since then, each time we’ve tried to run the Pre-Installation Wizard, the site keeps crashing as it is incorrectly changing parts of the code in the root .htaccess file. To resolve this each time, we’ve compared the file from this site to another site in the same hosting environment that is working correctly and replacing the parts of the code that have changed.

So we’ve got the site working at the moment but it means we can’t run the Setup Wizards anymore until this issue is resolved and that doesn’t feel good to us. We don’t know what exactly has changed that is causing the wizards to work incorrectly on this site now as they were working before the SSL certificate from what we’re aware of and we ideally want to keep the site as “HTTPS.” Do you have any idea what’s going on in our situation to be causing this strange behavior?

Please let us know what other information you need to help us resolve this issue.

    Thank you,
    Living Miracles

If you have custom htaccess code in your Root htaccess file then you need to save that custom htaccess code to BPS Root Custom Code BEFORE running the Setup Wizards.  If you are not sure which Custom Code text box your custom htaccess code should be saved in then post your custom htaccess code and I’ll tell you which BPS Root Custom Code text box to save it in.

Thank you for your response! We were under the impression that we had saved our custom htaccess code in the BPS Root Custom Code area first before running the Setup Wizards. However, after trying this out this time and then running the Setup Wizards afterward, it worked correctly and didn’t crash the site. So this issue now feels resolved/complete.

    Thanks again,
