Apparently my trip to Las Vegas this past weekend only offered up a modest shake-up. After years of retirements and firings Kendrick Bourne Jersey, the big San Francisco 49ers happening was the decision to waive safety Lorenzo Jerome and sign free agent cornerback Leon Hall. Apologies to Jerome if I am at all responsible for this happening. The 49ers return to the practice field Wednesday afternoon, which means we will get the first practice participation report of the week. This will be notable at cornerback because of the injuries suffered on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts. Asa Jackson was obviously lost to IR, but they also had Ahkello Witherspoon suffer a concussion, and Rashard Robinson leave for a spell with cramps. Additionally, defensive back Adrian Colbert will look to return from a hamstring injury that kept him out of Sunday game.Robinson should be fine, but Witherspoon will be one to watch as he works through the concussion protocol. Colbert was inactive against the Colts, which led to Witherspoon being active for the first time in his rookie season. Prior to Week 5, Asa Jackson had been the primary backup cornerback. However, against the Colts, Jackson was relegated to special teams duties, and Witherspoon became the primary backup cornerback https://www.49ersuniform.com.If Witherspoon progresses through the protocol and is available on Sunday, will he or Hall end up with more significant opportunities at cornerback? Where might Adrian Colbert work into this if he is healthy this week? Hall can handle special teams work, but his veteran experience would make a lot of sense for a cornerback depth chart that is struggling to find consistency.
