I am relatively new to WordPress. I am running WordPress v3.5.1 and have installed BulletProofSecurity v.47.8. With BulletProof Security acxtivated it seems my wp-cron.php does not trigger. With BulletProof Security de-activated my wp-cron.php does trigger. My homepage is distinctwebsitesolutions.com. When I run wget http://distinctwebsitesolutions.com from the SSH command line I get the following response when BulletProof Security is activated:-

    d556512 ~ :22:04:00:997: wget http://www.distinctwebsitesolutions.com/--2013-01-25 22:24:00--  http://www.distinctwebsitesolutions.com/Resolving www.distinctwebsitesolutions.com... 108.162.198.11, 108.162.199.11Connecting to www.distinctwebsitesolutions.com|108.162.198.11|:80... connected.HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 403 Forbidden2013-01-25 22:24:00 ERROR 403: Forbidden.d556512 ~ :22:24:00:998:

I am guessing there is a restriction contained within the root .htaccess file or the wp-admin .htaccess file which is causing this issue but, in truth, I am struggling to locate the issue. Can you point me in the right direction?

BPS explicitly blocks wget.  You can either allow wget or use the lynx command in place of wget, which is much safer. Please see this Forum Topic >>> http://forum.ait-pro.com/forums/topic/wget-gives-403-error-when-bps-is-active/
