BPS Plugin not showing latest version to update

    Client’s website used to run BPS.

    I go away for a month. Then a designer takes hold of the site and changes the theme and all plugins, including removing certain parts of BPS. Like the plugin had been deleted but BPS stuff there still on the server.

    Today is the day I learned that the designer had done this.

    So I’ve reinstalled BPS Pro to the site but only have version 17.1 installed. I know that currently version 17.4 is available.

    I figured all I had to do was install and clear caches and would see a nag to update to v 17.4 but so far – an hour later – I don’t see an ability to update to 17.4.

    Steps taken:

    • successfully ran the Set-up Wizard
    • cleared the caches (using Cloudflare)
    • “manual upgrade check”
    • clicking the Click Here to go to the WordPress Plugins page and then Refresh your Browser

    Do I just need to wait longer for the nag to appear?

    Use the “Upgrading an existing BulletProof Security Pro Installation (Using the BPS Pro Built-in Upload Zip Installer)” upgrade method to update BPS Pro. Most likely the designer was not aware that all BPS Pro features can be turned off and instead modified BPS Pro plugin code.
