ParticipantI’m not using MailChimp plugin. I am using mailchimp popup embed code generated on the MailChimp site. It is a simple js embed code that I have added to the head of the site. I have confirmed that the code is installed and displaying in the code of the site, however, before MailChimp will activate the popup subscribe form it has to check that it is installed and the check is getting a 403 error.
I tried the code from this thread but it did not resolve the issue.
I checked it several times and this is what is being logged when it blocks MailChimps confirmation attempt. The only change from one log entry to the next is the IP in front of 118.165.196.104.bc.googleusercontent.com. The IP appears to change with each attempt but bc.googleusercontent.com stays the same.
[403 GET Request: April 14, 2021 10:48 pm] BPS Pro: 14.9 WP: 5.5.3 Event Code: BFHS – Blocked/Forbidden Hacker or Spammer Solution: N/A – Hacker/Spammer Blocked/Forbidden REMOTE_ADDR: GDPR Compliance On Host Name: 118.165.196.104.bc.googleusercontent.com SERVER_PROTOCOL: HTTP/1.1 HTTP_CLIENT_IP: GDPR Compliance On HTTP_FORWARDED: GDPR Compliance On HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR: GDPR Compliance On HTTP_X_CLUSTER_CLIENT_IP: GDPR Compliance On REQUEST_METHOD: GET HTTP_REFERER: REQUEST_URI: / QUERY_STRING: HTTP_USER_AGENT: GuzzleHttp/6.3.3 curl/7.64.1 PHP/7.2.2
I was able to get MailChimp to verify it using troubleshooting Step #1: B-Core -> Deactivate RBM
However, leaving this deactivated is not a good option.
What would a whitelist entry look like to resolve this and where would it be added?
Thanks,
Pat

KeymasterWhat is being blocked is curl in the User Agent. The BPS Root htaccess User Agent security rules block nuisance Requests and not attacks. So it is safe to comment out the User Agent nuisance security rules.
1. Copy the modified QUERY STRING EXPLOITS code below into this BPS Root Custom Code text box: 12. CUSTOM CODE BPSQSE BPS QUERY STRING EXPLOITS
2. Click the Save Root Custom Code button.
3. Go to the BPS Pro > Setup menu > Setup Wizard page > click the Pre-Installation Wizard button and click the Setup Wizard button.# BEGIN BPSQSE BPS QUERY STRING EXPLOITS # The libwww-perl User Agent is forbidden - Many bad bots use libwww-perl modules, but some good bots use it too. # Good sites such as W3C use it for their W3C-LinkChecker. # Use BPS Custom Code to add or remove user agents temporarily or permanently from the # User Agent filters directly below or to modify/edit/change any of the other security code rules below. #RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} (havij|libwww-perl|wget|python|nikto|curl|scan|java|winhttp|clshttp|loader) [NC,OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} (%0A|%0D|%27|%3C|%3E|%00) [NC,OR] #RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} (;|<|>|'|"|\)|\(|%0A|%0D|%22|%27|%28|%3C|%3E|%00).*(libwww-perl|wget|python|nikto|curl|scan|java|winhttp|HTTrack|clshttp|archiver|loader|email|harvest|extract|grab|miner) [NC,OR] RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} (\?|\*|%2a)+(%20+|\\s+|%20+\\s+|\\s+%20+|\\s+%20+\\s+)(http|https)(:/|/) [NC,OR] RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} etc/passwd [NC,OR] RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} cgi-bin [NC,OR] RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} (%0A|%0D|\\r|\\n) [NC,OR] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} owssvr\.dll [NC,OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} (%0A|%0D|%27|%3C|%3E|%00) [NC,OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} \.opendirviewer\.
