    As it turns out adding the additional required code in Maintenance Mode for Network/Multisite subdomain sites was fairly quick and painless and has been completed in BPS Pro 9.9.  ETA for BPS Pro 9.9 release is 2-5 days.

    I see you added additional info and questions to your forum post.  The only features in BPS Pro that deal directly with the database are DB Backup and DB Monitor.  Both of these features will look at the local database only.  In other words, I believe you would not need to do anything additional with BPS Pro.  BPS Pro will see the database where it is installed and no other databases because that is the normal functionality for any/all WordPress plugins.
