The Plugins Firewall Test Mode Instructions Side Bar appears on the first window when I click “Start Test Mode” button, but then when I click on any links on my site it does not open the webpage in the same window next to the instructions side bar, it opens up a new tab and the side bar does not appear in the rest of the pages on my site as I click through to bring up pages to be tested. Are the rest of the pages on my site suppose to come up on the original window with the instructions side bar or is it still testing my site if new tabs open up for my webpages when I click on links?  I have very few scripts found under “Show Results” when I have finished testing my site.  I am using W3 Total Cache but Minify is not enabled.  Is the Test mode working properly or not and if not how can I get it to work?

When you click on any links within the Test Mode window they should open within the Test Mode iframe window and not open a new Browser window or Tab.  There was a bug several versions ago in BPS Pro that occurred on websites that were subdomain sites or aliased or forwarded with DNS.  If you do not have the most current version of BPS Pro – BPS Pro 5.7.1 – then force an upgrade check from the WordPress Plugins page and install the latest version or download the zip file from the Secure Download Area.

This may also be some sort of issue/problem with your Browser or Browser settings, extensions, add-ons, etc.  Which Browser are you using and have you tried the Google Chrome Browser to see if the same problem occurs?

You can also get plugin scripts that need to be whitelisted by checking your BPS Pro Security Log:  http://forum.ait-pro.com/forums/topic/security-log-http-error-log-read-me-first/

If the link is set to open in a new window then it does not open in the iframe. Lots of my links are set to open in another window. How does one overcome that? I can’t redo all my links.

You would not do anything if that is the way you want links to open and would instead use one of the alternative methods of finding plugin scripts to add to your Plugin Firewall whitelist instead of using the Plugin Firewall Test Mode.

Use the new Pro-Tools Multi page scanner or just activate the Plugin Firewall, log out of your website and use an online Proxy website to get a different IP address and then visit your website as if you are a visitor to your website with a different IP address then your own.  Check all functionality of your website – contact forms, sidebar widgets and everything else about your site as if you are a visitor to your site.  After you have checked everything then log back into your website and check your BPS Pro Security Log.  NOTE:  NEVER log into your site with a Proxy.  The Proxy is only for testing your website.  If any plugin scripts are being blocked by the Plugin Firewall you will see those blocked plugin scripts in your Security Log entries.

See the Plugin Firewall Blue Read Me help button for instructions on how to add plugin scripts manually to your Plugin Firewall Whitelist Text area and also see these Forum Topics links below:
