Hi,
I have many clients using BPS Pro who also have Siteground servers. Never a problem when using the MScan until this new client.
They had their website ‘under construction’ for years until recently. When I added in new files / a new build + BPS Pro, I did not wipe the database and start fresh. Seems like maybe I should have?
Here’s the error I got when running the MScan:
The MScan pattern matching code does not exist in your database.
Most likely your web host saw the pattern matching code in the MScan /bulletproof-security/admin/htaccess/mscan-pattern-match.php file as malicious and has either deleted the file or made the file or folder unreadable.
Unfortunately that means you will not be able to use MScan on your website/server/web host.
I am guessing it’s not the server itself but possibly the site was already infected? What would you suggest for next steps in this case? Make a staging copy (using a new database) and then push this live, and drop all tables from the old database?
Please advise, thanks.
