Yeah, I should have had you do this first.  I make this same dumb mistake every time – go way to deep instead of starting with these steps first.  Ok at this point you mentioned above in a previous post that the cURL scanner was not working.  I assume this was related to this issue that is now fixed.

Click the BPS Pro Pro-Tools menu >>> go to the cURL Scan tool and run the top scan.  You do not need to enter anything in the Limit Number Of Pages To Scan text box.  Let me know if the scan completes successfully.

Also it is essential that you watch this video tutorial:  http://forum.ait-pro.com/video-tutorials/#security-log-firewall

The cURL scanner has a 99% accuracy at finding all plugin scripts/rules that need to be whitelisted in the Plugin Firewall, but you should check your site with a Proxy as shown in the video tutorial above to make sure the scanner found all plugin scripts/rules.

BPS Pro does not display in a tabbed view like it should on my site.  When I checked the console window I have this error:

<span style="line-height: 1.5em;">Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 (Forbidden) </span>http://www.example.com/wp-content/plugins/bulletproof-security/admin/js/bulletproof-security-admin-4.js?ver=3.8.1
<div>event.returnValue is deprecated. Please use the standard event.preventDefault() instead.</div>

What could be causing this?  I tried adding that script to the whitelist but that doesn’t work.

Doesn’t the message indicate that it is the BPS Pro script itself that is being denied access? Here’s what my BPS Pro menus look like: [image link removed]

I figured out the problem:  http://forum.ait-pro.com/forums/topic/security-errors-from-cloudflare-and-a-broken-bps-pro/. I have Cloudflare configured for my site.  I followed the step 4 (deleted the Plugin Firewall .htaccess code) and the display was fixed. You mention you have a workaround…

This is actually just a general issue.  The issue is caused by some issue/problem with the Plugin Firewall .htaccess file and just doing the Plugin Firewall manual setup steps fixes the issue/problem.

The CloudFlare issues have already been addressed and fixed in BPS Pro 8.3.

I have seen a post that says the next scripts autoposter plugin has caused problems. I have no errors showing on my BPS dashboard, is it safe to continue using the next scripts plugin? Unfortunately I paid for the gplus upgrade!

@ clive bunch – your post has been merged into this relevant topic.

This was an old issue that no longer exists.  The old problem was the nextscripts plugin was loading its js and css plugin scripts in BPS plugin pages, which was causing problems for BPS.  This is no longer an issue/problem.

The tabs for some reason appear as a vertical list, when I submit the page

    @ Adi

What version of BPS Pro do you have installed?
Do BPS Pro troubleshooting step #3.  Are the jQuery menu tabs displaying correctly? If so, click the Save Whitelist Options button and click the Plugin Firewall BulletProof Mode Activate button to activate the Plugin Firewall again.

    3. On the Security Modes page, click the Plugin Firewall BulletProof Mode Deactivate button.

I have one webseite where the BPS GUI is not acting properly:
It shows all options like “security modes” and “ht access editor” in one line each instead of tabs.
I already deleted the .htaccess files, remove BPS PRO and reinstalled it using your ZIP file. No effect.

@ Max – Do this BPS Pro troubleshooting step:  3. On the Security Modes page, click the Plugin Firewall BulletProof Mode Deactivate button.  If BPS plugin pages are still broken then deactivate all of your other plugins and let me know if BPS plugin pages are still broken or not.

I am not quite sure how to enable and disable if the GUI looks like this:

Yep, that is very ugly.  Click the Deactivate button that is to the right of the Additional Roles IP Whitelist option and refresh your Browser.  If BPS plugin pages are still trashed then deactivate all other plugins.
