UPDATE: BPS Pro 13+ and BPS 2.0+ versions have a feature called: Setup Wizard AutoFix (AutoWhitelist|AutoSetup|AutoCleanup) that automatically creates plugin and theme whitelist rules and automatically sets up and cleans up caching plugins htaccess code.

Unlock your root .htaccess file on the BPS htaccess File Editor tab page and then deactivate the W3TC plugin, reactivate the W3TC plugin and go to the W3TC Settings page and resave/redeploy your W3TC settings.  Lock your root .htaccess file again after the W3TC error notification goes away.

I installed BPS and ran the Setup Wizard. When I clicked “Reload BPS Status Display” I got the following message:

W3 Total Cache is activated, but W3TC htaccess code was NOT found in your root htaccess file.

    The instructions say:

You can copy W3TC .htaccess code from your Root .htaccess file to BPS Custom Code to save it permanently so that you will not have to do these steps in the future.

I looked at the Root .htaccess file:

htaccess Core > htaccess File Editor > Your Current Root htaccess File

    See screenshot:

However, there is no code for W3TC.

    Cheers

    @ Mark Watson –

    1. Unlock your root .htaccess file on the BPS htaccess File Editor tab page.
    2. Deactivate and activate the W3TC plugin. This step will create new W3TC htaccess code in your Root htaccess file.
    3. Go to the BPS htaccess File Editor tab page > Your Current Root htaccess File tab > Copy the W3TC .htaccess code from your root htaccess file into this BPS Custom Code text box: CUSTOM CODE TOP PHP/PHP.INI HANDLER/CACHE CODE.
    4. Click the Save Root Custom Code button.
    5. Go to the BPS Security Modes page and click the Root Folder BulletProof Mode Activate button.
    6. Lock your root .htaccess file again on the BPS htaccess File Editor tab page.
