I am having trouble with a php error in relation to the userpro plugin. The plugin allows me to send an email invitation to potential site users but I keep getting this error each time I try to send the email from within the plugin:

[11-Apr-2016 15:43:49 UTC] PHP Warning:  array_merge(): Argument #2 is not an array in /public_html/wp-content/plugins/userpro/functions/ajax.php on line 1126

I don’t think BPS would have anything to do with causing this php error, but you can try doing BPS Pro troubleshooting steps 1, 2, and 3 and test if the php error is still occurring.  Most likely the php error is being caused by a coding mistake in the userpro plugin and you would need to send that php error to userpro support for a solution/fix.

@ AW – Contact the Convert Video Content plugin author and send the Convert Video Content plugin php error to the author so he/she can provide a fix for this Convert Video Content plugin code issue/problem.

@ Abzu – Please read the help information at the beginning of this forum topic on how to troubleshoot php errors.  In general it looks like your server had/has intermittent connectivity problems based on the php errors.

    Good Morning,

One of my clients’ BPS Pro sites has been reporting PHP errors quite frequently since April 26 and I’m not sure how to approach the resolution. Here’s a sample of the errors I’m seeing:

[10-May-2016 12:15:00 America/Denver] PHP Warning:  Module 'magickwand' already loaded in Unknown on line 0

This has not happened every single day since it started, and some days there are very few while others have heaps of these for various modules. How to begin?

I have a similar situation on another client’s site where these errors are being reported repeatedly:

[24-May-2016 15:36:21 UTC] PHP Warning:  filesize(): stat failed for /hermes/xxxxx/xxxxx/ipw.carlajgriffincom/public_html/robots.txt in /hermes/xxxxx/xxxxx/ipw.carlajgriffincom/public_html/wp-content/plugins/bulletproof-security/includes/arq-cron.php on line 1695
[24-May-2016 15:36:21 UTC] PHP Warning:  filesize(): stat failed for /hermes/xxxxx/xxxxx/ipw.carlajgriffincom/public_html/wp-content/bps-backup/autorestore/added-files/robots.txt in /hermes/xxxxx/xxxxx/ipw.carlajgriffincom/public_html/wp-content/plugins/bulletproof-security/includes/arq-cron.php on line 1696

    Any guidance is greatly appreciated!

The first php error means that the ImageMagick extension is being loaded twice in your php.ini file.  Look for this directive code in your php.ini file:  extension=imagick.so and delete the duplicate directive code (will be added twice/duplicated in your php.ini file).

The second php errors mean that either the robots.txt file does not exist (very likely) or there is a file/folder permission problem occurring (very unlikely).  There is a bigger problem though.  The AutoRestore Add Folders & Files tool is being used incorrectly.  To correct this mistake use the Remove Folders & Files tool > Remove Added Folders|Files Search > enter a forward slash / > click the Search button > in the Search Results For Added Files To Remove dynamic table that is displayed at the bottom of the page > select Remove for any/all Root website files that have been added using the Add Folders & Files tool > click the Remove button.

    Add Folders & Files Use:
You can add additional non-WordPress folders and files (ONLY) that you want to have checked and protected by the ARQ Cron. Click the Read Me help button for examples.

NOTE: There is ONLY one exception where WordPress and non-WordPress files are backed up together – when you backup your Root files on the AutoRestore|Quarantine Settings page you are backing up both WP Core Root files and any other non-WordPress files that are in your Website Root folder. All files in your Website Root folder should be treated like they are WordPress files. Example: You would use Exclude to exclude root files and you would not need to use Add for any files in your Website Root folder since they have already been added by backing up your Root files.

Thank you so much! A quick  look at the first one shows me this line at the top of php.ini which I’m sure I haven’t seen before.
    ;;; THIS FILE IS MANAGED BY PUPPET. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE. ;;;
Is it okay or an indication of more trouble? Should I do anything about it?
I will chase these issues with the two sites I already asked you about down as instructed as soon as I finish the task I’m working on.

Meanwhile, on this site http://dabarstudio.com…I worked on it quite a bit yesterday and today it’s acting weird. I found a huge pile of php errors, all from last night (23-May-2016 23:48:44-45 UTC). This site is close to completion, but I didn’t do anything technical yesterday, just reviewed the site with my client and made a few changes to the front end. I’m in Oregon and she’s in town just for a few days from Florida, so the site’s strange behavior is slowing down work that I need to get done promptly.

    Here’s what I’m seeing:

[23-May-2016 23:48:44 UTC] PHP Warning:  fwrite() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /hermes/bosnaweb14a/b2854/ipw.dabarstudiocom/public_html/wp-content/plugins/bulletproof-security/includes/db-security.php on line 734

This is repeated with references to numerous lines in db-security.php in the 600s and 700s.

Check with your web host about that text in your php.ini file since that sounds kind of suspicious.  The php error indicates there is a problem with your DB Backup folder path or URL. To fix the problem see this forum topic for the solution:  http://forum.ait-pro.com/forums/topic/getting-flooded-with-errors-and-security-logs/#post-26980

If the php errors are related to other plugins or something else on your website (not specific to BPS or BPS php errors) then you can Google them by using parts of the php error entry that are searchable:  Example Search:  “Module magickwand already loaded”.

Thank you for the clarification, and maybe you can remove this cURL options in the future…?

PS: I have new error in my PHP Error log:
    PHP Warning:  file_get_contents(https://www.google.com/recaptcha/api/siteverify
    I know why, it’s because I set allow_url_fopen=0 in a custom php.ini
I have done that because P-Security > Php.ini Security Status that this option should be set to Off..
EDIT: JTC is off because I use Google reCAPTCHA instead…

@ Pako – Typically file_get_contents() is used in a way that it should get file contents as a String in the background vs fopen (ONLY when used to get external data and NOT when used internally) which is a wrapper that gets file contents similarly to cURL, but in a very unsafe way.  So turning Off fopen in your php.ini file should not affect file_get_contents unless that function is being misused/abused in some way.  Post the actual php error so I can take a look at it.

    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/24007898/difference-between-file-file-get-contents-and-fopen-in-php
    http://php.net/manual/en/function.fopen.php

Note: you can capture external data safely using this type of method:  $request_body = file_get_contents( 'php://input', NULL, NULL, -1, 500 );, but the important factor here is the use of php input, otherwise you create a very dangerous scenario if file_get_contents is not filtered appropriately.

Ok yeah from the php errors it looks like file_get_contents may be being used in an unsafe way.  cURL is always the safer preferable way to get external data vs all other methods (unless appropriate safe filtering is used in other methods).  So without bashing anyone here (yet), I will download and test the WP Login reCAPTCHA plugin and let you know what I find.  I will be brutally honest. 😉
